Overview
Neighborhood Story Connection; project helps Los Angeles's diverse neighborhoods to share their unique stories, history, and culture. Teams of local artists and youth will gather stories from neighborhood residents and create large works of public art such as murals, street banners, and sculptures. Visitors from outside the neighborhoods will be introduced to these artworks and to the communities; food, music and cultural history through public openings and tours led by community residents. The participating neighborhoods include Chinatown, Highland Park, Leimert Park, Little Armenia, MacArthur Park and Thai Town. Deliverables: 6 large-scale public artworks 6 community celebrations, minimum 100 attendees each 120 youth with increased artistic and leadership skills. 600 community members meaningfully engaged.

| Budget Notes: The budget is not going to cover the program cost for our public programs ($12,000), the balance of the stipends ($22,000), the balance of the community art program director's salary ($40,000), web development ($5,000) and public program consultant's fee ($15,000). | |
