Create a World Culture program.Springfield Middle School Special Area Department

We would like to put in place a World Culture Program where World Culture, Art, Music & Family Living all work together to teach students about different cultures from around the world. The idea is to engage all of their senses & different learner styles, creating a fun & vivid experience that will inspire them to continue to learn more about all the countries of the world. Each trimester, students will learn about 6 different countries or cultures around the world in all 5 classes. In World Culture classes taught by the Foreign Language Department, students will learn about the history and culture of the country. At the same time, those students taking art will learn how to make traditional art. Students in Music will learn to play folk music. In Family Living, students will cook ethnic foods. At the end of each trimester, all classes will come together for a Multi-Culture day to celebrate & display their work.
