Overview

Our larger vision is to empower ordinary people to turn their own city windows into vertical veggie farms, thereby acquiring first hand experience in solving our collective food and environmental problems.  Thus far, we have made "do-it-yourself" plans available for free on our website, where Windowfarmers then share their findings about how to best grow food in the systems. However, our experience shows that only a small portion of our enthusiastic audience has the time, resources, handiness and/or web-savvy necessary to build their own Windowfarms from scratch. We have a waiting-list of folks eager to Windowfarm who have asked the core team to produce kits. Kits would be a boon for everyone, including the team, since kits could generate an income stream that will sponsor the rest of the team's non-profit activities. Creating even a small product line requires work from dedicated staff and an initial capital investment.
