Overview
Being an economically-challenged Rt. 66 rural community, we look out for each other and are now faced with budget cuts that will leave our children with no supervised outlets after school or during the summer months. Our Aquatic Center has already been closed down and we are in danger of losing all recreational programs that are now enjoyed by many. Youth Center Project would enable us to continue well-established programs that kids and parents alike, depend upon. Without these programs, 80-100 kids per day will miss out on recreational summer activities, along with after school and weekend outlets for physical fitness and health awareness. Elementary kids from K-3 have had physical education cut from their curriculum and we would like to emphasize the importance of physical well-being and provide an outlet for families to join with children in healthy fun. This project will promote fitness, fun and family in a safe environment.
