Provide A "Van of Hope" to transport Homeless Families with ChildrenFamily Promise of Lake Houston

The "Van of Hope" project is our effort to purchase a 15 passenger van to drive our families from their overnight accomodations to the Day Center each morning where they shower, use the computer, work on employment & educational goals, meet with their Case Manager & get ready for the day! The Lake Houston area has no public transportation, our families all have children (age 0 to 18) that need transporting daily. The idea of having all the kids & adults together at the start & end of the day provides a family atmosphere of support & levity as they talk about their day, share good news, and console each other when a challenge is presented. These families are amazing, they are willing to work so hard towards a better life!  We call it the Van of Hope - most families come in with very little, and leave with so much!
