Overview

The Tulsa Tough Kids Bike Program combines community outreach, awareness, education and fitness. Tulsa and Oklahoma face some very challenging health statistics with obesity and the various societal and health side effects. The main goal of Tulsa is to change behavior patterns by engaging the community and through our kids programs, we start at the elementary school age. In short, if we can show kids how to safely ride their bikes we may be able to get them to ride to school, to a friends house or the store we can potentially change their future and our own through improved health outcomes and self confidence.

This year marks a major milestone for the project with our 1,000th kids bike distributed in our community and we are beginning to see the impact the program has had. We believe we are setting a model that other communities around the world can use.

How will the 50K be Used?
