Overview

Imagine a place where Relationships Endure and Friends Remain in Enhanced Senior Housing:a neighborhood where the eldest among us live in their own technologically enhanced homes rather than a nursing home, surrounded by caring friends and neighbors. This is the Hope House Project, a cluster of senior houses located in the heart of Hope Meadows and connected to the neighborhood community center. This project provides a vision of aging as one of hope not despair, integration not isolation, and purpose not pointlessness. It is more than a place to live, it is a way to live; a way that ensures that elders are both givers and recipients of care. It is easy to envision how the frail elderly are recipients of care, but at Hope Meadows they continue to give back to the community through words of encouragement to the children, acknowledgement of what community members have meant to them, and modeling for all how to live fully until the end.
