Overview

Our community has a very large population of at risk teens and special needs children and adults. My project plan is to have two sessions per day of 20 rotating artists three days a week in a 30 week (school year) time frame, where the artists can come and participate in clay building, oil and acrylic painting, throwing pottery on the wheel, mosaics and many other art projects. Each 4 week session will have approximately 10 artists in a group. Since this will be in a group setting, the artists will learn social and fine motor skills and with our teen program, they will learn tolerance, kindness and the ability to critique their peers' projects in a kind way. At the end of a 4 week program, the artists will hold a Gallery Exhibit and Social to invite the community, family and friends to see and sell their work. Any work sold goes directly to the artist. Artists will be chosen from 3 community organizations at the direction of their Team Leaders.
