Streets of Afghanistan creates a multimedia exhibition with photography, video, audio, and interactive participants to showcase a region of the world we are deeply connected to but is deeply misunderstood. 40 6-foot standing banners create a visual walkway onto which a typical city block or rural village in Afghanistan is projected. Speakers project recorded audio along the walk. 15 living portraits intersperse the space - video portraits projected onto 3 foot by 2 foot screens. Female teachers, members of parliament, streetchildren, prisoners, and doctors share their individual and unique stories. 30 women dressed in burqas wander the exhibitionVideo of various city and rural scenes are projected onto larger screens; sports and marketplaces
