Overview

Biodiesel made from waste vegetable oil offers multiple environmental benefits.  However, commercial scale biodiesel processing plants have economic challenges, most notably limited feedstock flexibility.  Springboard Biodiesel has developed technology that enables small-scale, local production of ASTM-grade biodiesel from a broad spectrum of feedstocks, thereby assuring its users the lowest production costs and enabling petroleum pricing parity.  We believe that if biodiesel costs the same or less than diesel, we will increase US biodiesel usage, create jobs, and dramatically reduce air pollutants. We plan to build an operational pilot plant in Chico, CA by mid-2010 and then use that facility to demonstrate the feasibility of our equipment and our business plan. Thereafter, we will actively work to build a "green network" of Springboard Biodiesel Intelligent Local Production (ILP) plants that can cumulatively produce an increasing amount of biodiesel, profitably.

How will the 250K be Used?

Budget Notes: Our budget will only cover costs associated with the design, materials procurement and build of the initial ILP system. This will then serve to demonstrate our low cost, multi-feedstock productions system and prove that we can make biodiesel for a comparable or lower cost than diesel.
