Goals

  • To expose young special need kids to culture and art.

Overview

During the month of June a select number of special needs kids will go on outings to museums, art galleries, and other culture places they may not be exposed to otherwise. Some parents of special need kids feel they can not handle their child's behavior in public and choose not to do such outings. Our class has a pet hamster and that was such big deal because most of the students had never been around a pet or they tried to kill it because they did not know the differents between a hamster and a mouse.  These are the teachable moments that a lot of special need kids are not exposed too or they are just ignored.  I would like to expose my special  kids to a artful colorful summer where they can explore their passions for the unknown.
