Overview

Your votes will help to enhance the care of the horses at SMILES who are responsible for enormous benefit to the 150 riders they help weekly. Please check us out and see the wonderful gifts that our horses and volunteers give to so many with special needs.

We plan to create a new pasture area with its own shelter, water source and fencing where horses will get scheduled breaks, separate from those on duty. Now that SMILES runs year-round, a rotation system is needed to prolong longevity in the program.

The main paddock currently floods, sometimes flooding the arena and barn, causing damage.  The arena needs gutters, stalls need footing repair and the paddock needs excavation to send storm water to a more appropriate location.

A skidsteer would do so much on our 35 acre farm.  Maintaining paddocks and grounds, unloading trucks of feed or bedding, moving 800# bales of hay, cleaning up manure, plowing snow and digging fence post holes could be done quickly.
