Overview
Let's face it: Many people can't stand going to an animal shelter. The animals aren't exactly crazy about it either. But if a shelter doesn't have many visitors, how do the pets get adopted? We're putting down nearly three pets every day in Rockwall simply because no one wants them.
There has to be a better way.
A mobile adoption trailer will allow us to bring the pets to you. You'll be able to visit the shelter pets at various locations throughout Rockwall while the animals rest comfortably in air-conditioned kennels with fresh water and full lighting.
In addition, the mobile adoption unit will be available for emergency use by Rockwall's CERT team. Loose pets will be able to be safely sheltered in case of a city-wide emergency.
The more unwanted pets we can adopt means fewer animals that must be captured, housed and cared for at taxpayer expense. The more unwanted pets we can adopt means fewer animals being put down every day. And that makes Rockwall a better place...for all of us.
