Overview
R.A.M.P.'s goal is to help those in need - here in the United States - by working community-to-community, family-to-family, Mom-to-Mom, kid-to-kid, school-to-school, etc., to make a difference in families' lives in Appalachia. R.A.M.P. is currently working in Martin County, KY, one of the poorest counties in the U.S.
Deliverables:
*Raise funds to continue helping school with "Backpack Snack" weekend food program
*Raise funds to purchase healthy food for food pantry
*Build community gardens
*Work with local Moms and women of the community to create an income-generating Quilting project
*R.A.M.P. has been featured 2x on NBC Nightly News as a "Making a Difference" story (3/09 & 11/09) and on NBC Today Show (1/10)
*R.A.M.P. has raised more than $20,000 in donations from individuals and more than $250,000 in goods-in-kind donations
*R.A.M.P. has traveled to Kentucky four (4) times in 2009 and is planning its 5th trip to the region in February 2010
