Provide housing for low income families in Ponchatoula, LA.Lee E. West Jr.

Since Hurricane Katrina, There are very few families that are able to rebuild the homes they lost. My intensions are to put 4 families in well built, clean, safe, code inforced homes. These homes will lie within the city limits of Ponchatoula, La. They will have city utilities and will be in the best school district within tangipahoa parish.
When speaking to the local housing authority, 3 bed 2 bath homes are desperatly needed. The majority of land lords only rent 2 bed 1bath apartments. Ponchatoula's median income is $22,224 with a population of 6400 people. Ponchatoula is located 40 miles north of New Orleans and 39 mile east of baton Rouge. It is known as the strawberry capital of the world.
I will build 2 duplexs, each being 2300sq ft. on 1 acre of land. This will allow 4 low income families to live in well constructed homes for less than $300.00 per month.
