Overview

Is a killer hiding under your nose? In America, 100 people are newly diagnosed with oral cancer everyday, making it the sixth most common cancer. Surprisingly, this sixth most common cancer has one of the highest death rates. Almost half of those diagnosed do not make it past five years, and the rate of those diagnosed is on the rise. This high death rate is not occurring because these cancers are hard to discover, it is because of a lack of public awareness combined with a lack of a national program for screenings. The Oral Cancer Foundation can take that rate down by promoting oral cancer screenings through a public service announcement that will reach every household with a TV in America. Spreading the message to ask your dentist for an Oral Cancer screening. Oral Cancer is a hard disease to swallow. Detection can be easy, treatment is not! With $250,000, the Oral Cancer Foundation lowers the death rate from Oral Cancer.
