Overview
One World Youth Project collaborates with schools to better prepare the next generation to be discerning and empathetic citizens in an increasingly globally interconnected world. Our program links middle and high school classrooms together globally in learning partnerships with a unique curriculum that encourages collaborative learning and creates global networks while strengthening local communities. In Fall 2009, we took our program to the next level by expanding to universities. Our first OWYP University Hub piloted at Georgetown University. At Georgetown we are training teams of undergraduates to be hands-on cross-cultural facilitators in DC public schools. The univeristy Project Ambassadors facilitate meaningful communication between the local US schools and their partner-schools abroad while also guiding youth through the OWYP curriculum. We would like to expand this new program to more universities for fall 2011. Help us make it possible.
