Overview

The power of speech and debate changes lives. To share this power, the NFL will create weekend-long communication leadership summits in six major cities for students and teachers in Title I schools. Teachers will receive exclusive instruction from the nation’s leading communication teachers such as Tommie Linsdey, subject of the PBS documentary, Accidental Hero. The winner of The Amazing Race 14, Victor Jih, will join him with award-winning teachers to provide teachers with strategies, curriculum, professional development, continuing education credits, and long-term mentors. At the same time, successful current high school and college students and the NFL’s most talented professional teachers and coaches will work with hundreds of students from local Title I schools to teach them fundamental public speaking, research, and writing skills. Students will develop long-term relationships with peers, successful college students, and teachers who will serve as long-term mentors.
