Overview

The HOW I SEE IT program is a social media innovation, providing Flip Cams to Newark, NJ residents for the purpose of self-documentation. The program will initiate with 500 Flip Cams deployed in Newark through the non-profit organization Newark Now. The Flip Cams will be given to residents who are participating in the initiatives of Newark Now, specifically the Newark Comprehensive Center for Fathers, NCCF. (www.newarknow.org/fatherhood.html) NCCF is annually helping more than 100 fathers develop a stronger commitment to fatherhood, parenting skills, and employment skills. NCCF serves fathers in transition, men who have lost their jobs and homes, or who are re-entering the workforce following incarceration and who seek to assume greater responsibility for the lives of their children. The NCCF community will record their experiences using a Flip Cam. The footage from the Flip Cams will be edited into short segments and broadcast across the Web.
