Overview
The journey of cancer and hematology treatment of a child is an overwhelming and emotional time for families. Parents miss long periods of work (unpaid) in order to care for their children in the hospital and at home during the time of cancer or blood disorder treatment. The Hematology Oncology Needy Patient Fund is used exclusively for providing direct, financial support to these families. Families are helped with such concrete needs as: Utility bill assistance, phone bill assistance, and rent or mortgage help. The fund is also used to help families make the co-pays for medications and costs of medications not covered by insurance. Assistance is also given for transportation costs and food.
This fund desperately needs money since here has been a great increase in demand for assistance. Some families are not able to come to the hospital to get the much needed treatment for their child due to lack of funds. 100% of any donation goes directly to assist the families with their needs.
