Overview

A "Men in Science" conference will be held in October 2010. Students in 7th to 12th grades will attend a day long conference where they participate in two interactive break-out sessions with professional scientists. Examples of past sessions have included graphic design, dissections and meeting a professional storm chaser. Additionally, a keynote speaker and other public figures address the students, and local entities participate by bringing booths where students can talk with representatives from many businesses. Students are provided with a healthy breakfast and lunch, and typically receive t-shirts and back-packs for attending. This conference will demonstrate to Wyoming youth that they have the opportunity to have a successful and rewarding career in any field they choose if they are willing to work for their goals.
