Goals
- Purchase new books, furniture and a mural for the library
- Beautify the halls of our school with glass display cases and murals
- Purchase new music for the 130+-student orchestra
Overview
McKemy needs help supporting our school's commitment to cross-curricular connections, and doing so in an aesthetically pleasing, brightened learning environment.
The library is the heart of our school both in location and function, and it needs new books to support the Arts and literature. Ideally, purchases would also make a "poetry corner" possible--one that would include inviting spaces to sit and read.
Our 52 year old campus needs an inspiring facelift. We want more places to display student work, and lighter, more inviting hallways. Murals could blend words and images to lead students and teachers across the campus (and the curriculum) from the science wing to the music rooms.
We also need new Music for our concerts. While it is expensive, it is an investment that lasts, and that can be shared for many years--just as the murals and books would be.
Deliverables:
- $5,000 in new books
- new seating sectionals for the library
- 2 new glass display cases
- murals in library and hallways
