Helping a neighborhood refresh with an outdoor socializing area.Marion County Senior Citizens, Inc.

This project will not only benefit the seniors of Mannington it will benefit the seniors of Marion County because we will have an outdoor facility where we can hold our annual senior picnic.  The community of Mannington will benefit with an added outdoor picnic area as well as participants of the Rails for Trails.  Our goal is to build a pavilion with a concrete floor and provide picnic tables so that the seniors will have an outdoor place to socialize, have picnics and outdoor activities under shelter from the sun and rain.  A very important part of keeping seniors active is being able to provide various activities and socializing settings for them to utilize.  So many seniors live alone and are starved for socializing activities.  Once the warm weather arrives they enjoy being outdoors but require shelter from the sun.  We cannot ignore the enhancement this project would be to the community and participants of the Rails for Trails.
