Overview

Maracook B.E.A.R.S (Beginning Early Achieves Reading Scucess)  is an educational model designed to address the literacy and learning needs of an entire family. B.E.A.R.S is designed to be a practical community based program designed to accelerate literacy where the lack of books limits a child's ability to ready beyond a basic level. B.E.A.R.S is a family-centered educational approach that improves the basic reading,mathematics, writing and English language proficiency, and life skills of both parents and their children birth through grade 5. The BEARS program helps the child do better in school by teaching parents reading, financial litearcy, and study skills that they can use in the home to reinforce and enhance their child's learning.

The B.E.A.R.S project will offer 3-80 hr WorkReady components to assist unemployed with the soft skills and computer skills necessary to secure living wage employment.

We will be employing 2 high school age students, with literacy challenges.
