Overview
The Clifton Park Ice Arena (CPIA) is an exceptional facility offering year round ice time for figure skaters. The AFSC (a 501 c3 non-profit & tax-exempt organization, EIN # 13-2917543), would like to improve the services we provide to our local skaters at CPIA by purchasing & installing a jump harness (cost of $4,580). A jump harness is used to help skaters learn & improve the jumps that are required for competitive figure skating.
There is a growing emphasis on the health of children as well as engaging & retaining children in sports activities. Current statistics show that many children loose interest in sports events as they approach 11 year old. This is the time that many figure skaters are learning advanced jumps. Equipment such as a jump harness becomes necessary so figure skaters can continue to progress and learn new jumps, without becoming frustrated; the equipment helps keep them interested in the sport.

| Budget Notes: We are only soliciting funding to cover the purchase and installatin of the hardware. The skating rink will provide maintenance, etc. We re not looking for money for staff/coaches, the club is run by volunteers. We have partial funding already. | |
