Overview
Iowa Dollars for Scholars is seeking funding to develop a statewide signature event that encourages Iowa students to submit competitive essays on their "Iowa Heroes".
Goals:
Provide an opportunity for Iowa students to identify Iowa citizens who have made significant contributions to society and who serve as role models and inspirational figures for youth.
Develop an appreciation for outstanding Iowans who have overcome life obstacles and/or accomplish significant goals
Create a sense of pride in being from Iowa.
Provide scholarships and a "pat on the back" to outstanding students, Dollars for Scholars chapters and volunteers.
Promote the Dollars for Scholars program and good work being done by chapter volunteers.
Promote the need for private sector scholarships for higher education so students can realize their dreams of higher education.
Celebrate Iowa and students' dreams for higher education.
