Overview

Hope Animal Shelter would like to purchase or lease a large piece of property to house dogs and cats while they are waiting to be adopted. This property will need to be retrofitted so that animals would all have a comfortable indoor and outdoor area (for dogs) where they are treated for any illnesses, given attention, exercise, and love. The shelter would work with animals having problems or special needs to make them more adoptable to a wider range of families.

Working closely with the local animal control center, Pima Animal Care and Control Center, HOPE would rescue any animal that has been marked for euthanasia due to illness, advanced age, signs of aggression, or other reasons. These dogs and cats would receive the medical care and attention needed as well as the behavioral training to correct challenging behaviors, making them ready for adoption. With a large shelter, HOPE could help turn Tucson into a no kill city.
