Inspire New Orleans youth to Dream Big by helping HandsOn place 1000 murals in local schools depicting colleges, universities and inspirational quotes. Too often youth in New Orleans are told they attend failing schools and that will be lucky to even graduate. They enter the system assuming they will not go far. All children deserve to dream of a better future and given the proper support they are guaranteed to strive for the best. Surrounding students with murals of colleges and universities shows them endless possibilities. Volunteers and youth from the schools will paint the murals with the guidance of HandsOn Volunteer Leaders. HandsOn has currently placed murals in 10 local schools and is compiling a waiting list of schools wishing to have the murals. This is one small step we can take in partnership with schools, youth and volunteers to truly inspire young people to strive for a future that includes higher education.
