Overview
Women carry a "small world" in their purse. We learn early never to go in Mom's. Handbags of Hope gives women back this personal possession. Our Handbags reach Domestic Violence Shelters , Women in transistionand Teen programs across the State of Michigan. I've managed to operate with the support of my community and many volunteers. I rely on 90% donations of handbags, wallets and filler items.( This project took on a life of it's own , I'm just doing my best to keep up. It's the most rewarding work next to my family I've ever done. ) I operate from our basement but we're outgrowing it quickly. Since 2008 we have given over 3500 Filled Handbags , our Holiday Handbag Drive saw 1123 filled Handbags donated. Now the Thank You letters are coming in from the Shelters , saying what empowering gifts they were ! Our Mother's day deliveries are beautiful. We believe a Healthy Mom , makes for a Happy child. I'm just a simple lady, married 27 yrs, following a need.
