Overview
The "Project Greenhouse" plan will give all students, teachers, and faculty the opportunity to learn how to maintain and grow vegetables and fruits in a greenhouse. Classes in all grade levels (1-5) will speak to experts and learn the ins and outs of greenhouse gardening. Classes will take turns planting and maintaining all vegetables and fruits grown in the greenhouse year-long. All fruits and vegetables grown will be donated to local food pantries. In addition, students at the elementary school will begin a compost bin, in which they will create enriching soil to use for plant growth in the greenhouse. This project will enlighten the students by teaching them how hard work produces beautiful results, and it will give them the satisfaction of feeding another hungry child's mouth.
