Overview
- Totally volunteer fully registered 501(c) 3 non profit organization. Founded in 2004 to train Specialty Service Dogs to work with troops returning from armed combat with PTSD, TBI, and Physical limitations.
- Freedom Dogs trainer/dog teamscomplete a 2 year program of special training before being teamed with a wounded warrior.
- Freedom Dogs helps the recovery of wounded warriors in two ways –
- Partner Program – Paring dog/trainer teams with wounded warriors on part time intermittent basis during their recovery/rehabilitation.
- Partner for Life Program – Permanent placement of a specialty trained Freedom Dog with a wounded Warrior on a permanent basis.

| Budget Notes: Freedom Dogs (FD) a totally volunteer 501(c) 3 organization had a 2009 budget of $11,000 with 95% of these funds utilized for the foundation's training programs. No Pepsi Refresh grant funds will be used for admin. All funds will be used to train/develop and equipment for trainer/dog teams. | |
