  • To reconnect over 2,500 students with nature through outreach programs

Overview

The "Animal Ambassadors Reaching Rural Classrooms" (ARC) project will be conducted at pre-selected rural schools and youth organizations in Southern OK and North TX (Texoma). The wildlife education outreach programs will be provided to participants free of charge. Live Animal Ambassadors and unique "hands-on" biofacts such as horns, pelts and eggs, will inspire students and youth to learn about the natural world that surrounds them. Programs elements align with current teaching guidelines required in both Oklahoma and Texas.

Deliverables:
Classroom program, minimum 25 participants.
50 classroom programs presented free of charge to participating rural schools & youth organizations.
Vehicle "wrap" laminate promoting the ARC project sponsored by Pepsi Refresh.
Local TV segment KXII Channel 12 serving the Texoma area.
Texoma Radio stations KICM Ardmore, OK & KGAF Gainesville, TX.
Promotion of project on Facebook, Twitter & Frank Buck Zoo website.

How will the 50K be Used?

Budget Notes: The Frank Buck Zoo is a municipal zoo and therefore tax exempt and able to take advantage of special government contract pricing.
$ 35,000 Hybrid SUV
$ 2,500 laminate vehicle wrap fabrication and installation.
$ 12,500 Gas & staffing
