Overview

The Deceptive Dragon is a script designed to be produced as a short animated film and as a children's stage play.  A couple of established theaters in Los Angeles have been identified as areas that would benefit from a children's theater program.  Children would be invited to participate in the onstage version of this show.

The short film would be available for distribution in educational institutions and through public broadcast.

The goal is to reach kids in underprivileged areas through theater and film and deliver a message in the form of a fable.  The moral of the story is that fear can keep you from seeing things as they really are. 

Deliverables include:

1000 DVDs and online media of short film for distribution
Script for children's theater performance
6-7 week theatrical weekend performances in at least one Los Angeles venue
Opening theatrical reception with meet and greet for kids and artists 



 

 

How will the 50K be Used?

Budget Notes: Anticipated legal expenses will be handled through California Lawyers for the Arts. Artists will donate time and resources to promote the theatrical show as well as the film. The theater(s) will assist with staffing and may promote the show as part of their regular season.
