Computers for College provides needed laptops for attending college. Computer Banc

Many students are now required to have a laptop to enter a program or classroom. Computer Banc currently receives a minimum of 1-2 requests from college students each week for computers, most importantly laptop computers. The objective is to make computer ownership a reality to economically challenged college students. Computers for College, utilizes the resources and participation of college Tech Ed students assisting CB volunteer staff in performing refurbishing tasks. This program will support the reality of computer ownership and access to the educational resources needed to secure and maintain skilled jobs. Our goal is to distribute refurbished laptop computers to 350 college students over a 1 year period. Computer Banc is currently working with school districts, community colleges and universities to identify students in financial need.

Deliverables:

1) refurbish 350 laptop computer and load new software

2) distribute incooperation with the Illinoiss school financial aid offices
