Overview

Our goal is to fund a teacher's request to build a universally accessible climbing wall at the town middle school.  This equipment will be utilized during the school week by all middle school students in our system.  In addition, the climbing wall will be integrated into our summer programs and be made available to the public evenings, weekends and summers.  Experiencing the climbing wall will help students realize strengths and weaknesses in themselves and their peers that are not always apparent. By providing an in-the-moment teaching opportunity, age appropriate social interaction can be taught and practiced in a supervised environment.  The climbing wall will become an integral piece of the school wide anti-bullying initiative.
Deliverables:
* An integrated approach to school wide anti-bullying campaign
* Introduction to climbing wall as a fitness activity to fight childhood obesity
* Publicity through newspapers, websites, and a permanent sign.
