Overview
Child care teachers are rarely recognized for their critical role in support of working families or their importance in promoting the development of our youngest children. In the first five years of life, children need teachers who know the latest information about brain development and how to promote early language and learning development. At an age when children depend on trusting and predictable relationships, turnover and burnout rates among child care teachers remain extremely high. The Challenging Teachers Institute is a high impact week of learning, reinvention and renewal that ignites passion for teaching and renews commitment to our youngest children. Deliverables: *100 teachers who work with low income children throughout the Southeast will echo the sentiments of a past participant,"My renewed excitement about teaching sent me back to my classroom with new things to try and proud of my profession" *15,000 low income children will have INSPIRED TEACHERS
