Overview
I saw a need for an organization like "CareFare" while traveling to be with my Mom who was battling a chronic disease. My Mother lost that battle, but I hope "CareFare" will become a positive force born out of my loss.
When my Mother suddenly became gravely ill, she spent her time going between hospitals in Chicago and Minneapolis for over 15 months. I spent numerous weekends flying back and forth to be with her, while living and working full time in Las Vegas. It was important for me to travel to see her, to allow me to give her the support only a child can give their parent. Coping with the loss of my Mother and the mounting debt from travel expenses gave me the idea for Carefare.
CareFare's mission is to allow adult children the financial means to be with their gravely ill parent. The CareFare Foundation hopes to alleviate some of the stress by assisting with the logistics of travel. Sometimes we all need help to get back home.
