Overview
Did you know that children who live without their biological fathers are at least two to three times more likely to be poor, to use drugs, to experience educational, health, emotional and behavioral problems, to be victims of child abuse, and to engage in criminal behavior?
Through the Dinner with Dad project, men who participate in our continued development programs will enjoy a monthly dinner with their children. Many of our clients begin to pay child support, reconnect with their families and become active fathers after they come to Career Gear. Dinner with Dad will foster continuous and long-term relationships between fathers and children as they enjoy a healthy dinner, onsite games, arts & crafts, and music. Keepsake photos will be given to the fathers and children at the end of the evening. Additionally, fathers will receive Metro cards to assist with transportation. A professional will be on-site to facilitate group activities and communication.
