Overview

The "GimmeShelter!" project will enhance the safety and care of hundreds of unwanted & abused animals in the Greater Jackson, MS area.  The vast majority of kennels and bowls at Community Animal Rescue & Adoption Inc. (CARA) require replacement.  Some have been repaired and are reaching the point there can't be additional repairs made. Almost all have been in use for 9 years or longer since many were donated in used condition. The disinfectant and water has caused rust to the point of breakage with many kennels and as such it creates a safety concern for animals sheltered at CARA and volunteers who work at CARA.   CARA is the largest no-kill shelter in MS and runs on donations.  The community keeps the doors open but needs help giving shelter to our homeless animals.

Deliverable:
1.  10% Increase occupancy
2.  Replace kennels, beds, & improve safety
3.  Puppy Hugs & Kitty Kisses!!

How will the 50K be Used?
