Overview
Our Inclusive Playground Project includes building 2 play areas, totaling around 7,400 s.f. near the heart of Brea, CA. The land is jointly used by the Laurel K-6 School & Lagos de Moreno City Park. The city and school district support PTA's efforts to make this project happen.
When done, it'll be within walking distance for many families.
The few pieces of equipment still standing are old; some are not usable.
The inclusive elements let children of all abilities play & grow together. Specific structures are for kids with developmental &/or sensory disabilities.
Deliverables:
- 12 swings; one is an inclusive swing
- A Giant Glider to hold a group of kids with 2 wheelchair passengers
- 6+ educational panels to encourage imaginative play with sight, sound & touch
- SeeSaw - 4 seater for children of all abilities
- One trolley glide and spinners
- Two large climbing structures to help build upper- & lower-body strength
- Rubberized surfaces enabling wheelchair access
