Goals

  • To intiate this program in our community and sustain it long term

Overview

The "Backpack Buddies" program will provide healthy food over the weekend to children of low income families who may otherwise go hungry.  The children will receive a bacpack on Friday's before they go home for the weekend that will contain a variety of healthy foods.  They will bring the empty backpack to school on Mondays and it will be refilled during the week and ready to go home with the child again on Fridays.

How will the 25K be Used?

Budget Notes: Food items will have high nutritional value and meant to supplement the family menu. The food will consist of kid-friendly, nutritious snacks and meal items.
$ 600 To purchase 40 backpacks at $15 each
$ 24,400 To purchase 42 weeks of food per child at $14.52 per week
