Overview
STRIVE will accomplish the following to ensure the project's success. The 1st step is the application / intake interview, which helps identify barriers that need to be addressed during the workshop. The next step is the workshop itself, which takes place Mon-Fri, 4 hrs per day for 4 weeks. This workshop is conducted in a workplace simulated environment where professional clothing is required, punctuality is a must, and attitudes and behaviors not conductive to a positive work environment are addressed. In this way the veterans undergo a crash course in the soft skills necessary to obtain and maintatin employment. Successful graduation leads to job development. STRIVE works closely with employers to help market the graduates, while each graduate utilizes the skills they learned at STRIVE to market themselves. This will allow the program to realize a 75% job placement rate. Supoprtive services staff will work with each graduate to ensure personal needs to not inhibit professional goals.
