Overview
Aevidum! Most people have never heard of the word "aevidum," and with good reason. The word doesn't appear in a dictionary — at least not yet. But it will. If Aevidum students have their way, people in every high school across the nation will use the word "aevidum," which means "I've got your back," to help friends struggling with depression and thoughts of suicide. After partnering with the Minding Your Mind Foundation, and working with SADD and the bands "Dooligus" and "Nolan Gardner and Retrofit", we're launching an initiative March 30 with "Aevidum Awareness: Kickoff Across Pennsylvania," where students will take the Aevidum message back to their schools. By forming Aevidum Clubs in every high school across the nation, students will know the warning signs of depression and suicide and have their friends' backs.
Left untreated, depression is a primary contributor to teen suicide, the third leading cause of death among young adults, but it doesn't have to be. Aevidum!
