Overview

Our project will take our popular Vendy Awards, which celebrate street food culture and immigrant entrepreurship, on a national tour across the U.S. We will crown the "best food vendor" at cook-off festivals in various cities and towns, raising national awareness about immigrant vendors and all they bring to our communities. This will crystallize what has already become a national movement around street food while impacting policy debates about immigration, small business development/the economy, and food culture/sustainability.

Deliverables:

3-5 "Vendy Award" events in cities and regions across the US. 30 participating vendorsminimum 5,000 festival attendeesminimum 50 appearances in local and national media outlets
