The VOICES project, which stands for Voices Of Innocent Children End Silence, provides survivors of childhood sexual abuse with the emotional tools they need to face their pasts and overcome the shame and secrecy that shrouds their lives. Silence is not a negative thing unless it is used to keep harmful secrets. In the VOICES groups, survivors share their pain and stories as they learn the steps necessary to heal themselves from the past that haunts them.VOICES will make a difference one person at a time by allowing a survivor to find their voice and begin the healing process. By the end of 2010, VOICES will be recognized throughout Pickens County, providing six groups to assist survivors and their families.
