Overview
Our "Time Travel" project will use current technology to help students learn about their history and heritage. Each social studies class will pick a time period in history. Then, each student will select an important event from that time. Students will research their event, becoming an expert on it. In a letter to a friend, they will describe the event as though they were there. Students will record their letters using the porgram Audacity. They will search the Internet for images about their topic. They will photograph themselves and use the program GIMP to add themselves to one of the pictures. They will turn everthing into mini movies. As a class, they will create a map on their Smartboards. When viewers press a dot, a student movie will play. The maps will be displayed for all visitors to interact with on a Time Travel Night sponsored by the school.
Deliverables:
1 Time Travel Night with 200 attendees
3 press mentions
9 historical maps
