Overview

"Take Note and Vote" is a subway music competition to benefit and raise awareness of musical talent buried under the streets of major cities. This project will connect artists, fans and communities through music. A subway music competition targeting 5 out of the top 10 transit systems in the in the U.S., the contest would benefit artists and over 9 million daily commuters in major cities. The project will provide less well-known artists with a platform for reaching a broader audience, and expose music enthusiasts to musicians they otherwise might never know about. "Take Note and Vote" will give rushed commuters an opportunity to log online, vote for their favorite artist, sample and purchase music. Based on votes by commuters, we will crown one grand prize winner and record a compilation CD featuring subway artists identified throughout the competition. A portion of the proceeds will benefit urban music programs in public schools to raise awareness and education of subway music.
