Goals
- Ending Hunger
Overview
It's simple. We have a line of soups and for every portion sold, an equal portion is donated to someone in need (mainly through local food banks). As there are more of us who can eat that who can't, the math is in our favor. The business model already works profitably on a small scale, this grant will get us to the next level that much faster, and that means good news for those in need. The company is set up as a for profit company because that;s the way the tax code reads. In one sense that's just fine. Better to lend a hand than to need a handout. We all know hunger is a condition and not a root cause, but you know what? It's a lot easier to fix the causes that lead to hunger whe your stomach isn't yelling at you all the time. And the soup (which already tastes good) tastes so much better when you know that every spoonful you feed yourself, means a spoonful going to someone who didn't know where their next meal was coming from. Now they do. It's coming from you.
