Overview
Students will work with teachers in all subjects to create & perform a math circus. In math, each student will pick a concept they are having difficulty with & become an expert on it. Then, they will create a visually interesting way to teach this concept to others. For example, if they are doing probability, they will use the SmartBoard to create an interactive coin toss. In science, they will study how their concept applies to science; in the probability example, they might study probability in genetics. After a month, students will perform their math tricks at a Math Circus Night given in December. Parents and community members will be present, and the school will be decorated like a circus, with particpants receiving a bag of math-themed treats for attending.
