Goals
- To inspire young people to write positive lyrics that will move others
Overview
The "Clean Up The Rap, Clean Up The City" project will bring music and videography together in which New Orleans teens will compete to have their lyrics chosen to complete a CD and possibly an accompanying video. The music and storyline (subject) will be provided to inspire the teens to focus their lyrics on the current events in the city. The lyrics must be clean with no profanity or inferences to negative behavior.
The "Clean Up The Rap, Clean Up The City" project will inspire and bring a sense of ownership back to the teens of New Orleans.
There will be 5 winners who will get to individually spend 1-2 weeks with Jon-Boii in his Atlanta, Georgia studio to complete their (1-song) project. One song will be chosenfor a music video. The 5-song CD and 1 featured video will be copyrighted and sold at stores, fairs and Jazz festivals. The proceeds will go towards the next "Clean Up The Rap, Clean Up The City" project.
